Movie News

CULVER CITY, CALIF. (August 28, 2008) – Two-time Academy Award® nominee Will Smith (Best Actor: Ali, 2002; The Pursuit of Happyness, 2007) is not your average superhero in the summer blockbuster Hancock, debuting on DVD, Blu-ray™ High-Def and PSP™ November 25 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE).  The more than $560 million worldwide grossing film also stars Oscar® winner Charlize Theron (Best Actress, Monster, 2004) and Jason Bateman (Juno, TV’s “Arrested Development”) in the action-packed comedy about an edgy, sarcastic and hard-living superhero (Smith) who has fallen out of favor with the public.  The must-have gift for the holiday season, Hancock is priced at $28.96 for the single disc Theatrical or Unrated Edition DVD, $34.95 for the Two-Disc Unrated Special Edition DVD, $39.95 for the Blu-ray High-Def with Digital Copy and $24.94 for PSP.

The single disc DVD will be available in theatrical and unrated editions.  Both versions contain extensive bonus materials including five featurettes, which take viewers “backstage” on Hancock.  Included are the behind-the-scenes documentary Superhumans: The Making of Hancock; Seeing the Future takes eight scenes from the actual film footage or B-roll footage and shows side by side comparisons of the conception during the pre-visualization creation; the special effects are highlighted in Building a Better Hero; Bumps and Bruises is a breakdown of action sequences in the film; and director Peter Berg is interviewed for Mere Mortals: Behind the Scenes with “Dirty Pete.”

The Two-Disc Unrated Special Edition DVD features both the theatrical and unrated editions of the film and all the bonus materials from the single disc versions, plus a bonus digital copy of the film, which allows consumers to download a digital copy of the film to play on their PC or PSP (PlayStation® Portable) System, and two additional featurettes.  The added featurettes are Home Life, which shows via time lapse photography the building of the homes and buildings used in the film; and  Suiting Up, a featurette on the film’s costume design.

The bonus features for the Blu-ray High-Def edition includes all the material from the single and Two-Disc DVDs, plus BD-Live functionality and the Blu-ray exclusive On-Set Visual Diary, a BonusView picture-in-picture track with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast, filmmakers and crew.  The second DVD disc contains a digital copy of the film which consumers can download to play on their PC or PSP (PlayStation Portable) System.

Boston legal Season 4 On FOX DVD September 23rd 2008
Movie News

CENTURY CITY, Calif. – At the chaotic law firm of Crane Poole & Schmidt, there’s no such thing as temporary insanity – it’s more of a permanent condition!  Amid torrid interoffice love affairs, and under the watchful eye of new senior partner Carl Sack, the firm’s brilliant but volatile attorneys take on such burning social issues as the death penalty, gays in the military,  euthanasia, mortgage foreclosures, going green, racism, obesity and animal rights.   So enjoy a stiff drink and light a cigar as the fourth season of the seriously addicting legal drama “Boston Legal” lands on DVD September 23rd from Fox Home Entertainment.  Headlining the stellar ensemble cast are James Spader** (Secretary, Sex Lies and Videotape) and William Shatner* (“Star Trek”), starring in their respective Golden GlobeÒ and EmmyÒ award-winning roles as two unlikely kindred spirits among the brigade of high-priced litigators at Crane Poole & Schmidt; matching forces in her Emmy nominated role is Candice Bergen*** (“Murphy Brown”) playing the vigilant founding partner; and former TV lawyer John Larroquette**** (“Night Court”) joins the firm as the new senior lawyer from the New York office.

From prolific television producing and writing icon David E. Kelley (“Ally McBeal,” “The Practice”) “Boston Legal” tells the professional and personal stories of a group of brilliant, but often emotionally challenged attorneys.  Sometimes irreverent and funny, sometimes intense and moving, “Boston Legal” prides itself on being at the forefront of issue-oriented television, often addressing issues that are underreported by the media.  Fast paced and darkly comedic, the series confronts social and moral issues, while its characters continually stretch the boundaries of the law.  Nominated for an EmmyÒ Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2007, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recently honored the show with their Television Academy Honors, recognizing television with a conscience and achievements in programming that present issues of concern to society in a compelling, emotional and insightful way.  The five-disc “Boston Legal” Season Four DVD collection includes all 20 episodes from the fourth season along with “The New Kids on the Courtroom Floor” behind-the-scenes featurette and will be available for the suggested retail price of $59.98 U.S. / $89.98 Canada.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 3 On FOX DVD September 9th 2008
Movie News

CENTURY CITY, Calif. – Welcome back for another round of crass humor and over-the-top outrageousness at Paddy’s Pub with the craziest bunch of unwholesome friends ever when the ridiculously hilarious third season of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” comes to DVD September 9th from Fox Home Entertainment. Continuing to gain a hardcore cult viewer fanbase as Season 3 earned the series’ best ratings to date, the FX original comedy chronicles the completely dysfunctional lives of a group of inappropriate dive bar owners – Mac (Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Dee (Kaitlin Olson), along with their twisted father figure Frank (Danny DeVito) – as they relentlessly dig their own graves via constant scheming and numerous poor judgments to get ahead by leaving no politically incorrect issue unexamined. In utterly crude and indecent style, the gang tackles such hot-button topics as racism, sweatshop labor, dumpster babies, sex offenders, the homeless, serial killers, transgender lifestyles, international terrorism, drug dealers, organized crime, vigilante justice, the mentally challenged, among others.

Packed with irreverent bonus features including behind-the-scenes making-of featurette, character profiles, select episode cast commentaries and TV spots, the “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” Season Three DVD set will be available for a suggested retail price of $39.98 U.S. / $54.98 Canada.
